To city agencies, community nonprofits, the media and the community at large, PSS contributes a unique and compelling blend of research, best practice programming, and advocacy about the issues that matter most to Philadelphia’s children and youth.

In just ten years, our achievements have been many. We’ve galvanized attention for the key indicators of childhood in Philadelphia through our annual Report Card. We’ve participated in behind-the-scenes work that recently helped reduce youth homicides in one city neighborhood by fifty percent. We’ve joined with community leaders and partner agencies to produce a dramatic increase in the accessibility and effectiveness of youth development services – from 7,710 in 2000 to nearly 45,000 in 2005. And in many ways, we’re just getting started.
